Dr. Hillary Conant is a licensed veterinarian who combines conventional veterinary care with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. The majority of Dr. Conant’s patients have been referred by their primary care veterinarian, veterinary specialist or canine physical therapist. The goal is to work as a team, using whichever tools are appropriate, in order to maximize the patient’s comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life.
Dr. Conant’s practice, SBVIS, aims to provide complementary therapies as part of an established veterinary care plan and is not intended to replace routine, or emergency veterinary care, including vaccinations or wellness services.
Appointments are offered as house calls - in the comfort of your home or office - and occasionally at approved partner facilities. Requests for appointments without a referral from another veterinary professional are considered on a case by case basis but generally given lower priority than those referred.

This approach prioritizes individualized assessment and treatment planning, addressing not only symptoms but also the underlying factors that influence well‑being.
Through therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, cold laser, and other validated supportive treatments, integrative care can help manage pain, support recovery from injury or chronic conditions, and enhance comfort over time. These complementary therapies are provided in the context of an established medical care plan and in communication with your primary veterinarian to ensure safety, appropriateness, and coordination of care for your pet.
